Carol and Buzz each became Jesus followers separately in their lives before they even knew each other. Carol became a Jesus follower with the guidance of her mother when she was a young child. Buzz became a Jesus follower during his first year in the dining hall at the US Air Force Academy after hearing Bill Bright’s Four Spiritual Laws. There is a link below for more information.
